On 9/27, Street Level Health Project celebrated its tenth anniversary at the Oakland Museum of California! Street Level Health has provided the Hep B Project with the space to meet our patients and to provide our services - as such, the event was near and dear to the Project as well. The evening was not only a celebration of SLHP, but a celebration of efforts to provide affordable healthcare for the disadvantaged. There were several keynote speakers, ranging from physician to councilwoman. It was clear that SLHP not only influences the community members it serves, but other organizations around it as well. ![]() Our own volunteers, Hattie and Albert, attended the celebration! ![]() During the evening, SLHP honored Kathy Ahoy, our supervising nurse - throughout all the years that SLHP has existed, she has worked tirelessly to gather support and funding to sustain the organization. She is important not only to SLHP, but to the Hep B Project as a supervising nurse who helps us provide medical services to the low-income and uninsured. The Hep B Project has been continuing its work towards fighting Hepatitis B in the Alameda Country area - as we go into fall, there have been many events which we hope will help us branch out into the community even more. ![]() Celebration of Dalai Lama's Birthday TANC (Tibetan Americans of North America) celebrated the birthday of Dalai Lama, while setting up healthcare stations to reach out to the community members. ![]() Lifelong Medical Care sponsored a health fair for all ages - with raffle tickets, prizes, and different organizations providing their own freebies, it was a great day to network and learn about the volunteer work going on in the Berkeley/Oakland area! ![]() 9/22 Walgreens Health Fair Walgreens partnered up with AHS to bring organizations together in Oakland - during the fair, they provided free services such as HIV testing and vision testing to serve the community! |
